The Institute of Environmental Science and Research Limited (ESR) is a Crown Research Institute in New Zealand. ESR's works in collaboration with the health and justice systems in New Zealand by providing services in environmental health and forensic science. ESR was formed in 1992 during dissolution of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) by the Crown Research Institutes Act 1992. It is a limited liability company, wholly owned by the New Zealand Government. == Capabilities == ESR professionals cover a range of disciplines focused on safe environments for people.
